Dr. Michelle Bodden-White just celebrated her 40th anniversary of becoming an initiated priest of Yemoja. She was among the first members of Egbe Omo Yemoja and currently serves as an Elegun for Ogunleki. In her professional life, she enjoyed a successful and rewarding career in education including working with diverse student populations as a teacher and principal, teaching undergraduate courses at a major college in NYC, earning a Certificate of Graduate Study in Online Learning and Teaching as well as a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
After retiring from her educational career, Dr. Bodden-White earned her JD Magna Cum Laude at Albany Law School in New York in December 2021. She was the 2021-2022 Director of Legal Education for the American Bar Association Law Student Division and served for one year as a member of the American Bar Association Council on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. After graduation, Dr. Bodden-White served as Law Clerk to Hon. LaToyia Jenkins, family court judge in the Passaic County Superior Court in New Jersey, and then returned to New York as an Assistant Public Defender in Ulster County Family Court. Currently, she is an Attorney for the Child in Ulster County, New York, and has founded her own law firm dedicated to estate planning for Orisha worshippers.
